Report Series: Schools at the Centre
As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing educational leadership and decision-making autonomy, Beaconhouse initiated an organisational realignment in 2019, positioning schools as the central units within its framework. The ‘Schools at the Centre’ report series critically examines the outcomes of this strategic shift through the lens of school heads across the network. These reports provide a deep dive into the perceptions of empowerment, leadership dynamics, and the evolving challenges and successes encountered in embedding greater school autonomy.
- Report 1: Analyses the initial impact of Beaconhouse’s strategic shift to empower schools, based on a survey of 192 School Heads. The report evaluates empowerment across four domains and highlights ongoing challenges in resource allocation and leadership, noting a moderate to high achievement of the “Schools at the Centre” vision.
- Report 2: Reviews progress in the organisational realignment two years post-implementation, using survey data from 150 School Heads. It reveals increased recognition of the vision’s success but a decrease in perceived decision-making authority, emphasising the need for enhanced support and clearer guidance in collaborative decision-making structures.
